Welcome to Rivendell. The house is a striking and thoroughly unique Charles Rennie Mackintosh inspired Arts and Crafts mansion dating from 1924. We are situated close to Dumfries town centre and its numerous shops, pubs and restaurants. All of our rooms feature spacious en-suite facilities and are equipped and furnished to the highest standard.  We have consistently attained four star ratings from both Visit Scotland and the AA and recently were awarded a certificate of excellence from Trip Advisor.

We offer a friendly, relaxed service with a wide degree of flexibility in our terms and conditions. We are happy to reply to queries and can generally adapt and comply with any reasonable request.

Your hosts at Rivendell are proprietor Bruce Harper and manageress Wendy Bainbridge. The business has been established for ten years and continues to go from strength to strength.

Your hosts, together with the staff, will endeavour to make your stay as satisfying and as comfortable as possible.
